ASEKOL SK is a not-for-profit organisation which organises and finances a country-wide system of collection, transport and processing of e-waste and used portable and rechargeable batteries on behalf of producers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries. ASEKOL SK is today the largest compliance scheme by producer market share for batteries and rechargeable batteries and the second-largest for electrical and electronic equipment. It stands in the first position in the categories of consumer electronics and information technology.
ASEKOL is a compliance scheme whose mission is to collect and recycle end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment. This not-for-profit organisation was founded in 2005 by the leading representatives in the market for consumer electronics, office, telecommunication and information technology in order efficiently to dispose of worn-out and obsolete equipment in an environmentally friendly manner. In addition to take-back, ASEKOL dedicates itself to awareness projects for the general public in the Czech Republic’s individual regions.
ASEKOL’s long-term results rank it among the most important compliance schemes in Europe. Although collection and recycling of photovoltaic technologies is a relatively new area, it is nevertheless very similar to collection of small electrical equipment. The company’s objective is to process end-of-life electrical equipment using state-of-the-art technology. Throughout its existence, therefore, Enviropol s. r. o. has actively kept pace with global trends in processing e-waste to maximise the possibilities for its further use.
